Dr. Wang Yan is a world famous medical chi kung expert, herbalist, and martial artist, on the board of scientific qigong research institutes in China. Currently living in Amsterdam, she's appeared on TV in Europe over 50 times about her specialty in weight loss chi kung. --------------------- Long Bio: WANG YAN (age 70 in 2007, grandmother) Wang Yan is a world-famous Master and multiple world- champion in Qi Gong, Tai Ji and Kung Fu. Her medical treatments became famous when she helped Netherland's largest man lose weight - nearly 200 pounds- using just Qi Gong breathing exercises. Master Wang Yan was born in Qinjiang, Jiangsu province in 1937. She got her university degree in medicine and started her working carreer in 1958 in Nanjing. From her early childhood she studied Wu Shu and Qi Gong martial arts. Se studied under the guidance of eminent teachers such as Jiang Yukua, Gu Liuxing, Fong Zhiqiang, He Fusheng, Sa Guozhen, Fu Yonghui, Hu Hong, Wang Zhuanghong and Lu Xuebin. She is trained in Yang, Wu and Chen style Tai Ji Quan. She is also adapt with the sword, the saber and other martial arts. She is accomplished in many kinds of medical Qi Gong. From 1970 she served as a professor at six different Nanjing Universities. She taught more then eightteen thousand students. She also taught the Swedish Royal Family Dance Troupe and the Wu Shu club of a Japanese University. In China she is a national celebrity and leading expert in her field. Master Wang Yan collected all the known "Wu Shu" en "Qi Gong" material in Jiangsu and wrote and edited two books on this material. She is listed as one of China's Top 100 Doctors. She continued her studies with several famous masters, as was customary at that time. This gave her many new insights in medical applications for Qi Gong and she gained expertise on the use of Chinese herbs. In May 1989 Master Wang Yan moved to Holland, and brought Chinese medical knowledge, herbal knowledge and Qi Gong and other martial arts to Europe. The combination of medicine, a particular diet and Qi (life energy) exercises are combined into specifically targeted therapies to treat many common and uncommon diseases. Her Amsterdam-based clinic became so succesful, that she was unable to meet the demand. Until her recent retirement, she treated over 20.000 people with eczema, psoriasis, migraine, weight loss, and smoking. Her national celebrity status is assured as she helped the nation's largest man lose 75 kilos in just weeks by teaching him her special breathing techniques. She appears in many tv-shows (Tineke de Nooij and others) and is extensively interviewed in national newspapers and magazines. Her success also resounds all over Europe and across to the USA. She appears on more than 50 tv shows worldwide and many newspapers and magazines in Germany, UK, Belgium, Sweden and US interview her. In April 1995 she receives the honorary doctorate for behavioural sciences from the International Martial Arts University of Los Angeles, Califomia. In that same month she is also appointed the position of professor in herbalogy at the International Martial Arts University. Master Wang Yan was crowned international Tai Ji Quan world champion five times. In June 1996 she was awarded the 20th century highest achievement award by ITSC. Master Wang Yan is currently retired but continues her voluntary work for many organizations to date. She resides in Amsterdam. |
